Face Behind the Brand
As of today, you may or may not have wondered who is RIH. Well today I am here to tell you exactly who RIH. is as we take a look at the Face Behind The Brand. RIH. stands for Resilient, Independent, and Honorable which are three words that further define your founder and owner of RIH. The Brand, Rebekah Smith.
Rebekah is a former Collegiate Track and Field Athlete of Clemson University who saw an opportunity to explore her love for fashion during the outbreak of COVID-19. The journey leading to where she is today resembles resilience, independence, and honorability. Ultimately, defining who she is still to this day during her transition from the face of Clemson Track and Field to now the face of RIH. The Brand and a Woman in Tech.
Rebekah's senior year as a student-athlete was ended abruptly, as the entire would shut down and the pandemic began to spread across the US. The result of this led to minimal opportunities available in the job market and Rebekah being forced to sit and take a look within at her identity aside from Track and Field.
During this time of self discovery she turned to fashion. For all the Clemson students reading this you may recall Rebekah being one of the few athletes dressing up for class everyday and strutting across campus in her heels. With this in mind, this was the perfect time to start a clothing brand. Not only was creating a brand during this time a break from reality, but an opportunity for her to explore her creative side.
This journey began with Rebekah sewing a black and white t-shirt together and heat pressing her logo with a rose on the tee. While Rebekah is no longer hand-making her designs, she is working with directly with manufacturers for all cut and sew production.
Even though this is only the beginning of Rebekah's brand journey, she is ready to continue moving forward from leaving her mark on the track to leaving her mark in the world of fashion through RIH. The Brand.
